Marine Cargo Experts have experience with surveys of Heavy Lifts and Project cargoes including the overseeing of the planning and loading operations on behalf of Cargo Underwriters, Charterers, Ship Owners and P & I Clubs.

 

Our work covers 'risk assessment', on-site attendance during the movement by road and the loading of heavy pieces to ships holds and also the surveying of damage to heavy lifts and Project cargoes.

Heavy lift projects entail the following:

  • Survey of heavy lift at the inland premises or dockside for damage
  • Route planning from dock to final destination
  • Confirmation of all appropriate test results / certificates for the lifting equipment and trailer for onward journey
  • Checking of certificates of vessel’s/dockside lifting equipment
  • Checking of vessel stability criteria before and after loading with the appropriate calculations prepared
  • Final survey for any damage to cargo or vessel
  • Comprehensive study of planned stowage on vessel, the securing and the intended voyage
  • Photographic evidence

Project cargo surveys entail the following:

  • Survey of the project cargo at the inland premises or dockside for damage
  • Pre-planning of stowage
  • Checking of certificates of vessel’s/Dockside lifting equipment
  • Stowage and securing procedures
  • Final survey for any damage to cargo or vessel
  • Photographic evidence
