Chilled or Frozen meat
Problems arise when chilled or frozen meat cargoes have thawed in transit due to :
- Unacceptable temperature fluctuations during the voyage or overland transit
(as recorded by data loggers or recorders)
- Complete breakdown of refrigeration machinery
- Overturned trailer on the road which requires a ‘cross-stuffing’ operation
(i.e. from one refridgerated trailer to another refridgerated trailer)
MCE's consultants are then called in to deal with any Claims Investigation. Our final report will typically include one or more of the following :
- Thorough review of all pre-load, load passage and arrival/transit documentation
- Investigation of the cause(s), nature, and extent of any claim including photographic evidence
- Microbiological analysis : coliform levels and/or total viable count (TVC) of bacteria
